Youth organisations’ commitment to quality assurance of education and training continues in 2016!

09/01/2016

This year the European Youth Forum will continue to offer its members quality assurance of education training, so that through non-formal education (NFE) youth organisations can continue and enhance their work to empower young people to become active, responsible and engaged in building democratic societies.

Over the last three months four Youth Forum members (AEGEE, the National Youth Council of Catalonia, PROM – Polish Youth Council and TEJO) received training on the Youth Forum’s Manual on Quality Assurance of Non-Formal Education. More training sessions are planned for the coming months, the first one provided to the National Youth Forum of Bulgaria.

The quality of the education that youth organisations provide is essential to their vital work in empowering young people and giving them important skills. By learning how to implement the Quality Assurance (QA) Framework, youth organisations will be able to improve the overall quality of their NFE projects.

Youth Forum members can now apply to have their own training provided by trainers from the Youth Forum Pool of Trainers, specifically trained on the QA framework. Using participatory, interactive and hands-on methods, the training provides an insight into the implementation of the QA process in their NFE work through the development of quality indicators as well as peer support and feedback.
