The European Youth Forum’s Working Group on Youth Work met in Brussels from Friday 19th September until Sunday 21st September, to discuss the Forum’s upcoming Policy Paper on Youth Work, sustainability training for National Youth Councils (NYCs), and other issues.

The European Youth Forum aims to build strong youth organisations across Europe that can effectively advocate on youth issues. The Youth Work Working Group (YWWG), which is made up of experts from our member organisations, is instrumental in reaching that goal.

Last weekend, the YWWG met for the fourth and final time during its 2013-2014 mandate. Representatives from six member organisations and the Youth Forum Board discussed the upcoming Policy Paper on Youth Work, which will set out the Forum’s position on the topic of youth work across Europe. The group also discussed the forthcoming sustainability training for National Youth Councils (NYCs), due to take place in October in Finland, as well as the second European Convention on Youth Work, scheduled for April 2015. A further publication showcasing and sharing member organisations’ youth work best practices was also examined.

The European Youth Forum considers strong youth organisations - undertaking effective, constructive youth work - as essential for better, more inclusive societies. Ensuring that our members can share best practices and develop their capacities to deliver quality youth work thus remains a key function of the Forum.
