The European Youth Forum, along with Jeunesses Musicales International are excited to announce the winners of the YO!Fest 2015 E merging Bands Contest.

The Emerging Band Contest (EBC) gives young up-and-coming Belgian bands a unique opportunity to showcase their musical talent to a huge audience and open for the headliners Movits! (Sweden) and Massilia Sound System (France) at YO!Fest 2015 in Brussels on 6th May.

The winners are…

Indie/Pop&Rock category

Ides Moon An Indie/Alternative band from Ghent that has been attracting much deserved positive attention from the press in the past months. They participated at the famous Flemish springboard the Nieuwe Lichting and at the 2014 Humo’s Rock Rally and were chosen as Vibe of the week by Radio 1. Their cool rhythms and effortless vocals will draw you in from start to finish; you won’t want to miss a second!

Ethno/World/Folk Music category

Man on Fire & the Soul Soldiers A Soulful Jazz group composed of nine ‘soul soldiers’ inspired by the legacy of artists such as Marvin Gaye, James Brown and Curtis Mayfield. Their energy and passion will take you back to the historic roots of soul while merging in the band’s own unique groove. Get ready for some funky beats!

The jury of the YO!Fest Emerging Bands Contest was composed of professionals from diverse backgrounds, all sharing a passion for music, from the Jeunesses Musicales International, Liveurope, Ancienne Belgique, 22 tracks, Pure FM, Deezer Belgium, AirTV, Court Circuit, Poppunt and the European Youth Forum.
