The Membership Growth Project goes from strength to strength after meeting in Ireland

29/01/2014

On 24-27 January, the European Youth Forum met with representatives from 4 member organisations from all over Europe in Greystones, Ireland for a third meeting of the Youth Forum’s Membership Growth Project.

The project is a two-year pilot collaboration between the Forum and local member organisations. The aim of the project is to support local member organisations by helping them develop ways to improve their approach to gaining new members and volunteers, as well as enhance the quality of their membership.

While in Greystones, which is 30 km south of Dublin, the group of 14 participants discussed implementing their action plans to meeting this goal over the next couple months. The Forum will support the organisations during the implementation of the action plans by providing advice and expertise and planning some field visits.

Participating member organisations are ACTIVE – Sobriety, Peace and Friendship, Association des Etats Généraux des Etudiants de l'Europe (AEGEE), Youth for Exchange and Understanding (YEU) and the YWCA and include the local groups NAK Hellas from Greece, Resource Centee Leskovac from Serbia, Nezávislá Organizácia Mladých (NOM) from Slovakia, AEGEE-Bratislava and the YWCA from Ireland.

The group has met twice before in Antwerp during June 2013 and Tallin in September 2013. After the meeting in Greystones, the project is halfway towards completion. Additional meetings are scheduled throughout this year with the aim to complete the project by the end of 2014.
