In the run up to the International day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia on the 17th May; IDAHO, Youth Voices Count, YCSRR, CLAC-JO, QAYN, Advocates for Youth and the European Youth Forum are organising an online flash mob also known as a “Thunderclap.” By joining this Thunderclap you can unite your voice with thousands of people from around the world to stand up for the rights of all LGBTQI young people to live in a non-violent and non-discriminatory society.

Young LGBTQI people often face multiple forms of discrimination because of age, sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Many are bullied at school, blackmailed, harassed in both the public and private spheres, denied access to health services and discriminated against in the workplace. To prevent this kind of discrimination and harassment, many organisations and thousands of people will use Thunderclap to call to action leaders of the world to ensure that all LGBTQI young people have access to fundamental human rights. This day will highlight the need for youth organisations to be inclusive of the voices and the needs of LGBTQI community. It will push LGBTQI organisations to actively engage young people and help support their leadership and empowerment.

To be a part of this worldwide Thunderclap all you need to do is follow the link below. When you click on the link and support the Thunderclap either by Twitter or Facebook, your message- which you can personalise- will be posted automatically and simultaneously on 17th May with people from around the world. The European Youth Forum supports this initiative and looks forward to standing together with thousands of people for LGBTQI rights.
