Membership Growth Project builds stronger youth organisations

12/12/2014

Last weekend, the European Youth Forum hosted a meeting Membership Growth Project (MGP) in Brussels. This meeting was the last of an 18- month project to help participating youth organisations become more sustainable through enhanced membership strategies.

The Membership Growth Project is an 18-month pilot project implemented by the Youth Forum with its member organisations and their local members. The MGP does not aim to provide tools to attract new members but rather to change structures, references and the pedagogical approach of those organisations involved.

Six different organisations members of AEGEE, ACTIVE and YWCA attended the meeting to evaluate the overall implementation of the project and the results brought by the Membership Growth Project over the last 18 months in their organisations.

The evaluation was very positive, and all organisations showed that they benefited from the project and now perceive their organisation as more sustainable.
The European Youth Forum, as well as the International Non-Governmental Youth Organisations and local organisations have a key role in the dissemination of the MGP. The Youth Forum, together with the participants of the project is now developing a toolkit to share with the whole Platform how to benefit from the results, learning and methods of this two-year project.
The Youth Forum is looking forward to sharing this toolkit and help to make youth organisations stronger.
