Earlier this week (1st to 2nd September), the European Youth Forum took part in a taskforce meeting of the International Coordination Meeting of Youth Organisations (ICMYO) hosted at the headquarters of one of our member organisations, the International Federation of Liberal Youth (IFLRY), in London.

ICMYO is an informal network of international youth NGOs and regional platforms that focuses on integrating youth into United Nations debates in order to have a stronger impact in global youth policy processes. The UN is one of the key institutions that the European Youth Forum works with actively on youth policy.

By taking part in this taskforce, the Youth Forum was able to continue its cooperation with other youth organisations around the world as we all work together to build a common voice. In bringing together various regional youth platforms and international youth NGOs, we are able to better coordinate and craft political input and work on global youth policy processes.

During the meeting, the taskforce discussed preparations for the ICYMO Annual Meeting this autumn and followed up on the World Conference on Youth that took place in Sri Lanka in May. There was also a discussion about the ICYMO representatives for the Global Forum on Youth Politics taking place in Baku this October.
