European Youth Capital Applications for 2018 #EYC2018

26/02/2015

This is the last week to apply for the European Youth Capital 2018! The Application deadline is the 28th of February. In a push to make cities heard and seen the European Youth Capital (EYC) prides itself on empowering young people through events and projects that are designed to demonstrate the active, essential role that young people play in society.

Applicant cities are requested to submit a multi-faceted programme outlining their motivation, the intended long-term social impact of their EYC year, as well as their plans to both continue and expand youth-related projects. These EYC activities should have a clear European dimension and link to European youth policies, including youth participation, non-formal education, employment, social inclusion, volunteering, international cooperation, multiculturalism, and integration.

The capital city of 2018 will be the tenth EYC having first been awarded to Rotterdam in 2009. The following European Youth Capitals include: Turin (2010), Antwerp (2011), Braga (2012), Maribor (2013), EYC Thessaloniki (2014), current EYC Cluj-Napoca (2015), Ganja (2016), and Varna (2017). We feel that all European Youth Capitals are great examples of what every city should look like in terms of youth policy and youth participation.

The European Youth Forum looks forward to receiving the applications for EYC2018. The application can be found HERE. For any further questions please contact Conor O’Neill at the European Youth Forum’s Secretariat: conor.oneill@youthforum.org
