ERASMUS+ Info Day
The European Youth Forum organised today the “Erasmus+ Info Day” hosted by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and Directorate General for Education and Culture (DG EAC).
The new Erasmus+ Programme aims to boost skills and employability, as well as modernising education, training, and youth work. The seven-year programme will have a budget of €14.7 billion.
The European Youth Forum followed the process very closely leading to the approval of the new Erasmus+ and advocated for more opportunities for youth organisations and young people in Europe. We are now continuing this action by informing youth organisations of the possibilities offered by the new programme. And we will continue to monitor the implementation of Erasmus+ to help the European Commission, the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency and Youth National Agencies to improve the programme.
The main focus of Erasmus+ Info Day was the Youth Chapter and aimed at exploring the opportunities offered by the programme in terms of non-formal education. It was also an opportunity to provide a real space for discussion between the implementers and beneficiaries of the programme. On this occasion, Pascal Lejeune, from DG EAC, assured that: “The Erasmus+ provides new opportunities to young people and youth organization and we encourage them to think out of the box when applying for projects.”
We want to thanks Indre Vareikyté, rapporteur on Erasmus For all from the EESC for hosting the event and presenting the work of the EESC in the development of the programme, as well as the speakers from DG EAC, EACEA and the Belgian Youth National Agencies for the clarifications provided during the event on the new programme.
The Forum hopes that this event provided a clearer understanding of the Erasmus+ programme and created a good ground for our members to start its implementation.
