The European Youth Forum is launching an in-depth consultation on youth policy among its membership to get a real insight into youth policy and the lives of young people in Europe by hearing from the Youth Forum’s member organisations.

The results of this survey, which is part of the consultation process, will provide the Youth Forum with valuable information on the relevance of existing frameworks for youth policy at a european and global level. The Youth Forum wants to asses how advanced the implementation of the rights based approach (RBA) is across Europe and how youth rights are being protected.

The input from the consultation will feed directly into the Youth Forum’s advocacy work. It is, therefore, crucial that as many members as possible answer the survey and give the Youth Forum vital insight into the situation in their context and country.

The information from this survey will also feed into a shadow report to a European Commission ‘EU Youth Report 2015’, which they will put together from a questionnaire answered by national governments from all 28-member states. The Youth forum’s shadow report will point out the perspective of youth organisations as well as the role they play in the implementation of youth policy. This report will support the Youth Forum’s advocacy and highlight where further efforts need to be made to ensure efficient youth policy.

The consultation will be open until 3rd May to give members enough time to discuss the topics with their members and stakeholders. The Youth Forum will organise online discussions to support its members’ in preparing their input. For any additional questions please contact Lucille Rieux, Policy Officer on Youth Policy at Lucille.rieux@youthforum.org
